Properties:
The essential oil is extracted through the process of steam distillation using the unpeeled or dried ground root. The oil is a pale yellow colour in appearance and has a spicy but also sweet, warm and slightly peppery aroma.

Main Uses:
It is believed that ginger can be beneficial for arthritis, muscle aches, rheumatism and general pains. It is thought that it can be useful when inhaled during aromatherapy to ease nausea, travel and morning sickness. It can also be helpful in removing catarrh, tiredness, lethargy and feelings of depression or loss of libido. It can have many of the same benefits if just a few drops are used in the bath.
