Description
Properties:
The essential oil is extracted through the process of steam distillation using the leaves and bark. It is considered a toxic oil and if accidentally taken internally can prove fatal. It has an oddly woody, minty-like aroma. It can be pale yellow to pinkish in colour and has a fluid consistency.
Main Uses:
In massage it can ease aching muscles and tired or sore muscles due to its methyl salicylate content. It also considered beneficial in massage for the treatment of asthma, backache, cramps, symptoms of a head cold and sprains.
Can be used in creams lotions, balms and hair care and thought to be helpful in treating flaky scalp conditions like dandruff and other skin conditions like psoriasis.
Blends Well with:
Chamomile, lemon, orange, lime and jasmine
Ingredient:
100% Wintergreen Oil
Main Constituents:
methyl salicylate, a-pinene, myrcene
Indications:
Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
