Indian Frankincense is distilled from the frankincense tree resin, Indian frankincense or “”dhoop”” and produces a light, fresh scented essential oil that has been used in Ayurvedic medicine. The essential oil is extracted through the process of hydro distillation using the resin. The oil has a fresh, sweet aroma with a slightly balsamic scent and it is clear or a pale yellow colour in appearance.
Main Uses:
Frankincense has been known to help soothing dry and mature skin and it is also believed to have an uplifting effect on the senses, helping you maintain healthy breathing and a healthy chest. This oil was used traditionally for treating arthritis. When used in massage, combining a few drops with either coconut oil or almond oil can help the body stay relaxed and limber and it is especially beneficial for those who practice yoga. It has been used over the years throughout history and it is known for its powerful uplifting effects on the body and the mind. When diffused, it will encourage healthy and happy moods.
